This hotel, also known at the Hostal dos Reis Católicos, was originally built in 1499 to welcome pilgrims to Santiago, and it is still doing so today.
The hotel is an amazing building, adorned with interesting furniture and pieces of art. It is situated in the best location possible, on the edge of Obradoiro Square, only a few minutes stroll from the great cathedral itself. Although it is not as luxurious as some of the hotels and lodges in this section, its location and the history attached to this building qualify it in our luxury section, as well at its size, since it is not a boutique hotel.
If you want to soak in the city of Santiago, especially after hiking or biking “the Way”, there are few hotels that could match this for a wonderful celebratory experience.
